Welcome to Angelic Complementary Therapies April 2026 Newsletter

It’s April, and I really feel as if spring is springing! How was your March? Mine was quite busy! I was treating, teaching, giving treatments at a fayre, and also paying my respects to my mum’s youngest brother, Uncle Pete, at this funeral. That’s four times in four years I’ve been to Weymouth crematorium. Uncle Pete was the last of his generation. It’s very sad, and he will be greatly missed by many, especially his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Last month, I visited Dublin with my very good friend, Sharon, to celebrate her 50th. We had a fabulous time, and what a lovely little city it is. Please pardon my naivety, but there were so many bars! And yes, we did visit some, enjoy the Irish music and dancing, and really scrummy food. I was truly taken with Love Lane, a tiny alleyway where people write uplifting and positive messages, sprinkled among song lyrics and poems. How beautiful.

I also loved the little illuminated road crossing icons (little things please little minds…).

This month, I also taught the wonderful therapy, which is the Angelic Reiki practitioner level. This is the second time I have taught this incredible energy healing, and I have loved both experiences. Being able to share the knowledge I have gained, see others learn so much, and watch how their confidence and understanding grow is invaluable. I will never tire of it. Look at the cards I drew for the three days! Family – because we do become family, Progress – undoubtedly, and finally Success – need I say more.

I am teaching this course again in June. Please contact me if you are interested or have any questions.

Holistic Fayre – Lakeside International Hotel

On Sunday, I attended a fayre at Lakeside. It was lovely to see a few familiar faces. It was also a pleasure to meet new people and discover what therapies they offer, as well as some unique gifts including very beautiful crystals. I will be at another holistic fayre, the Stardust Psychic & Natural Therapy Fayre in Worplesdon Memorial Hall, GU3 3RG, on Sunday, 12th April, from 11am to 5pm, where I will be offering reflexology and energy healing. If you are free, please pop in and say hello. There will also be retail stalls, card readings, mediumship, crystals, and jewellery.

What is holistic therapy?

Holistic therapy is an approach to health and wellbeing that looks at the whole person — not just symptoms or a single condition. It considers how your mind, body, emotions, lifestyle, and environment all work together.

It’s often used alongside conventional treatments, not as a replacement. It’s always important to speak with your GP before starting any new therapies, especially if you’re taking medication.

At its heart, holistic therapy aims to:• Improve overall wellbeing• Support the management of chronic conditions

Common holistic therapies include:

• Reflexology

• Energy healing

• CBT

• EFT

• Acupuncture

• Meditation & mindfulness

• Crystal therapy

• Aromatherapy…and so much more

How does Holistic Therapy work alongside modern medicine?

Modern medicine (like prescription medication) is often:• Fast-acting• Targeted at specific symptoms or conditions

Holistic approaches, on the other hand:• Focus on long-term wellbeing• May help ease things like stress or sleep difficulties• Can support overall quality of life

For example, someone experiencing anxiety might be supported by medication such as Sertraline, while also exploring mindfulness, breathing techniques, or energy work.

Together, this can:• Help manage symptoms• Gently support underlying stress and lifestyle patterns

A balanced, combined approach can be incredibly powerful.

It’s also so important to choose a fully qualified and experienced practitioner — just as you would with any professional. Finding someone you feel comfortable with, who understands their scope of practice and when to refer on, makes all the difference. When used responsibly, Holistic Therapy works beautifully alongside modern medicine.

From my own experience, I’ve witnessed truly meaningful moments — from supporting people at the very beginning of life, to being present in their final days, helping bring comfort and peace. Even something as simple as being heard and supported can have a profound impact.

The goal isn’t “either/or” — it’s finding what works best for you.

Mindfulness

A mindful meditation with your pet

Pets bring a sense of calm, unconditional love, and a reminder of what it means to be fully present.

As a meditation teacher, I often hear people say, “Oh, I can’t meditate. I can’t switch my mind off. My thoughts never stop.” And it’s true—thoughts don’t stop. Expecting them to would be like trying to stop breathing (unless you’ve spent years as a devoted monk in deep practice).

So why place that kind of pressure on yourself?

Yes, thoughts will come—reminders of things to do, worries, plans, distractions. That’s natural. The key is not to fight them, but to acknowledge them gently and let them pass, just for this brief moment.

Meditation is not about having a perfectly quiet mind. It’s about allowing yourself to be still, even amidst the noise. It’s about being fully present—not caught in the past or reaching into the future, but simply being.

And our pets show us how to do this effortlessly. They live in the here and now, without overthinking, without striving. In their presence, we are reminded that this moment is enough.

Sit beside your pet and let the world quiet itself for a moment. Notice the rhythm of their breathing, steady and unhurried, unconcerned with what comes next. Their presence is simple, complete—there is no past to revisit, no future to anticipate, only this shared space between you.

Gently rest your attention on the small details: the softness of their fur, the warmth of their body, the subtle movements that show they are alive and here with you. If your mind begins to wander, return to them. Let them be your anchor.

Your pet does not ask you to be anything other than present. In their company, you are enough just as you are. Allow yourself to settle into that feeling—no striving, no fixing, no rushing.

Breathe in, and notice them. Breathe out, and simply be here together.

For this moment, nothing else is needed.

Quote for the moment

“If an egg is broken by outside force, life ends. If broken by inside force, life begins. Great things always happen from the inside.”

Crystal

Mookaite

This month, I feel drawn to introduce the very beautiful Mookaite. Mookaite is a type of jasper found primarily in Western Australia. It is known for its striking colours, ranging from deep reds and yellows to purples and browns. Read the benefits below for how amazing this crystal is.

  1. Grounding and Stability: Mookaite is considered a grounding stone that helps to stabilise emotions and bring balance during chaotic situations. It is often used to connect with the Earth and find inner peace.

  2. Strength and Courage: It is thought to encourage personal strength, courage, and determination. Mookaite is believed to help overcome fears, doubts, and insecurities, making it useful for those seeking to take bold steps in their lives.

  3. Supports Decision-Making: This crystal is said to aid in decision-making by providing clarity and helping individuals trust their intuition. It can be beneficial for those who are feeling uncertain or torn between choices.

  4. Energy and Vitality: Mookaite is believed to enhance physical energy and vitality, helping to improve overall well-being. It is often associated with stimulating the body's natural healing abilities.

  5. Helps with Ageing: (and I never knew this!!!) Some people believe that Mookaite has anti-aging properties. It is thought to support the body's regenerative processes and slow the effects of ageing, promoting health and longevity.

  6. Emotional Healing: Mookaite is said to support emotional healing by releasing old emotional blockages and traumas. It is thought to help with processing grief, fear, and anxiety, bringing a sense of emotional balance and calm.

  7. Enhancing Spiritual Awareness: As a stone that promotes deep connection to the Earth, Mookaite is also used for spiritual grounding and connecting with nature's energies. It is believed to help individuals open up to spiritual growth and awareness.

  8. Boosts Creativity: Mookaite is also associated with stimulating creativity and problem-solving abilities. It may encourage new ideas and help break through creative blocks.

Anti-ageing! I had no idea.

Oracle Card - Courage

When I connect with this card, the word courage comes to mind, along with the squirrel’s beautiful expression—one of inner contentment. It takes a great deal of bravery and trust for the squirrel to gather and hide its food, relying on it to carry them through the winter months. Guided by instinct, it does the necessary work, trusting that its efforts will sustain it, with hope for survival at its core.

There may be moments when it feels as though it is balancing on a branch that could tip either way. Yet, with courage in its heart, it holds onto hope. The squirrel also possesses remarkable agility, able to shift direction mid-flight when needed.

The message here is that once you’ve done the work, you must trust yourself and have the courage to follow your inner guidance. By doing so, you will remain true to who you are and stay aligned with the path you are meant to follow.

I wonder what this April has in store for each of us. Whatever it brings, may it be fun and peaceful. Maybe think of ways you can have quality time with the people in your life or quality time with yourself. Be present and, as I always say, be kind to all, but mostly yourself. I look forward to seeing you soon, with love and light.
